Read your Unit Outlines and create a study calendar
unit outline location The first thing you should do for any unit is to download and read the Unit Outline. It contains information about the unit, your assessments and a calendar that includes your assessments and the weekly topics. You access the Unit Outline via the link on the left hand menu for each unit.
It is recommended that you use the information in each unit outline to create an overall study calendar/diary for the study period. By including all of your assessments and work on the one calendar you will be able to keep track and ensure that you complete your work on time. You are welcome to use our study calendar template here Study Planner.docx Study Planner.docx - Alternative Formats
Read your assessment information
You can find information about your assessments in your Unit Outline as well as in the 'Assessments' link on the left hand menu in each unit's Blackboard site. The information you find in the Unit Outline will include the due date and time as well as a general description of the assessment. The 'Assessment' area on Blackboard will contain more specific information about the assessment. You should look at your assessment information now so that you have an idea of what you will need to do throughout the study period. Looking ahead, and checking what assessments are coming up will help you target your study and know how you will need to apply the skills and information that you are learning each week.
Check the Collaborate schedule
collaborate Throughout the study period Collaborate sessions are held. These are real-time interactive online sessions run by the Unit Coordinator, or a tutor. In these sessions you will discuss upcoming assessments, complete workshop style tasks and have a chance to ask any questions you may have.
You can find the Collaborate schedule for each unit by clicking on the ‘Collaborate information’ tab on the left hand menu. You should record the times and dates of the sessions on your study calendar.
The sessions will be recorded, and you can access the recording at any time after the session via the ‘Collaborate’ link in the left hand menu.
Topic 1 Posted on: Tuesday, 30 May 2023 09:41:03 o'clock AWST Topic 1 This week you are asked to identify your personal values and to consider how these form at different stages of your lives. You will also explore the relationship between these values and society. This opportunity to learn about yourself in a broader community context will help to shape ideas and understandings you will later apply to Assessment 1. To do: Click on Weekly Content to access the learning materials for Topic 1. Join Slack (if you haven’t already). Note the Collaborate schedule (first is today, Tuesday 30th May 4-5pm). Plan ahead so you have worked through the topic document before attending the Collaborate session 😉 Jacqui (: HUMN0001@curtin.edu.au Posted by: Jacqui Symons Posted to: UNR04 Introduction to Humanities (OpenUnis SP 2 2023 Curtin OUA - EXT[1]) Welcome to Humanities for Study Period 2!
